VIII International Freight Forwarder's Day 2010 

The seven-year-history of event shows the high interest of governmental authorities, National Associations and recognized international bodies: FIATA (International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations), CIT (International Rail Transport Committee), CLECAT (European Association for Forwarding, Transport, Logistic and Customs Services), OSJD (Organization for Railways Cooperation), ICC Ukraine (Ukrainian National Committee of International Chamber of Commerce), CCI Ukraine (Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine), EBA (European Business Association), etc.

International Freight Forwarder's Day 2010 provides the following issues for discussion:

  1. Multimodal transport in the Black Sea Economic Cooperation region;
  2. Development of rail freight as part of multimodal transport between Asia and Europe;
  3. Unified consignment note CIM/SMGS and its usage as customs declaration and multimodal transport document at the sea leg;
  4. Piggyback train "Viking" and its extension to the Rail-Ferry as transit Baltic-Black Sea;
  5. Improvement of standards in freight forwarding services.

International Freight Forwarder’s Day traditionally opens the Transport Week in Odessa. It means that during the whole week Odessa will host the most important transport events of the year:

CIS Heads Council’s decision (05.10.07, Dushanbe, Tajikistan) and Statement “On future development of EuroAsian Transport Connections” signed by 19 Ministers of Transport (19.02.08, Geneva, Switzerland) allow entering the offers on creation of reliable and efficient EuroAsian transport routes as regards to national interests. Ministry of Transport Order No 54 (02.02.2010) included International Freight Forwarder’s Day to the 2010 Plan of Transport Exhibitions in Ukraine.

International Freight Forwarder’s Day in Odessa, Ukraine, is the traditional forum of freight forwarders, logistics operators, carriers, public organizations and governmental authorities. The leading representatives of freight forwarding industry from different countries gather in Odessa to welcome this event and discuss the challenging and promising issues in Eastern Europe, EU and CIS. Exchange of experiences and knowledge during global and regional field meetings helps to improve transport process, and harmonize legislation and documents flow, so the main objective of International Freight Forwarder’s Day is a search for interaction and networking.
